What is a Combination Multi Bet?
A combo multi bet allows you to place multiple selections within a single bet, where different combinations of those selections create multiple individual bets. Unlike standard multi bets, where all selections need to win for a return, combination multi bets offer the flexibility to win even if not all selections are successful.
How to Place a Combination Multi Bet:
1. Make Your Selections: Start by choosing the selections you want to include in your multi bet. You’ll need at least three selections to see the option for combination multis.
2. Navigate to the Combination Multi Section: Once you have added your selections to the bet slip, scroll down to the ‘Combination Multis’ section under your selections. Here, you’ll see various options like ‘Any 2 Win’, ‘Any 3 Win’, etc., depending on the number of selections you’ve made.
3. Choose Your Combination: Pick the combination that suits your strategy. For example, selecting ‘Any 2 Win’ will generate bets for every possible pairing of your selections.
4. Set Your Stake: Enter your desired total stake or stake per combination. The other stake field will automatically update based on the number of combinations generated. The stake per combination must be a whole cent amount with a minimum of 1c per combination.
5. Place Your Bet: Once you’ve reviewed your combinations and stakes, hit the ‘Place Bet’ button to confirm.
How are Combination Multi Bets Settled?
Combination multi bets are settled based on the outcome of each individual combination. For instance, if A and B win, and C loses, you still win on the combination of A x B.
Example of a Combination Multi Bet:
Let’s say you’ve selected three outcomes: Winx to win the Cox Plate, Brisbane Broncos to win the NRL, and Patrick Cripps to win the Brownlow. Each selection in this example is priced at odds of $5. By choosing the ‘Any 2 Win’ option you are creating the following combinations:
- Bet 1: Winx x Broncos ($5 x $5)
- Bet 2: Winx x Cripps ($5 x $5)
- Bet 3: Cripps x Broncos ($5 x $5)
A bet with a total stake of $30 would give a stake per combination of $10 ($30 / 3 combinations). If Winx and the Broncos both win, with a $10 stake per combo, your return will be:
- Bet 1 return: Winx ($5) x Broncos ($5) = $25
- Total return for Bet 1: $25 x $10 stake = $250
You’ll win $250 for this combination, regardless of whether Cripps wins the Brownlow or not.
If Patrick Cripps does win the Brownlow your return would be;
- Bet 1: Winx x Broncos x Stake per combo = $5 x $5 x $10 = $250
- Bet 2: Winx x Cripps x Stake per combo = $5 x $5 x $10 = $250
- Bet 3: Cripps x Broncos x Stake per combo = $5 x $5 x $10 = $250
You would receive a payout of $750 for your $30 stake
